A Good Year for KMC
Well, it's been a good year for KMC Cycling. About this time last year is when we started to formalize and move the club in a new direction. Luckily, we've also managed to maintain the open community feel of the club for those that just want to log in and find a ride.
We did some pretty good things this past year, including registering as a private organization on base, attaining tax status, setting up an account, getting sponsors etc. We've really moved forward, and it's great to see the club growing like this.
A big thanks to last year's officers for moving the club forward. Particularly our first president, Steve Lee, and all the others who've made the club something more than just a forum devoted to cycling.
To those of you who put on the Jersey and busted your lungs to win races in the club's name: thanks a bunch, your efforts, and tired muscles, are greatly appreciated.
To those who rode in the Soldiers' Ride, thanks, our efforts raised over two thousand dollars for wounded warrior project.
To Jim for organizing multiple road time trials, thanks, I never got out to one, but heard they were fun.
To Eric, Steve and Mark for organizing the great Jerseys we have, thanks. Don't know about the rest of y'all but people compliment me on the Jersey on a regular basis.
To those that just pop in once in a while and join or post a ride. PLEASE keep doing so. That's what the original RACC started as, and we want to keep that aspect of the club and forum alive and well.
To anyone whose specific contribution I have overlooked, I apologize in advance, and thanks for what you've done!
To our sponsors; Frank's, Peadar Markey, Thursty Nelly's and Parkbrau, thank you for your contributions as well.
To everyone, thanks for all that you contribute to what is really a healthy cycling community in the KMC.
