The K.M.C. Cycling Club is a diverse group of people from across the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) brought together by a common interest in cycling and cycling advocacy. Whether through racing, group rides, community involvement or social events centered on cycling, K.M.C. Cycling's primary purpose is to further the sport of cycling in the KMC, and provide a valuable cycling outlet to its members. We are a not-for-profit organization that values diversity, friendship and, above all, a good ride.

Hello,
I've been commuting in fairly regularly from Miesenbach for the least few years. Like the group, and want to exxchange notes. Also work with Civil Engineering, so it would be nice to get a gauge on the demand for better access/surfaces for cyclists. Any word on a sanctioned Bike to work day event? I would be interested in promoting...

Steveo Welcome to KMC Cycling. Bike to work events... hmmmm that is definitely an idea.... Once we get certain paperwork done, I am organizing a 'commute for a cause' fundraiser based on commuting mileage for donations idea.
As far as ways to improve access, I would LOVe to see someone open up the delivery gate for outbound bicycle traffic in the mornings. It is currently closed to ALL outbound traffic in the mornings. An exception allowing bicycles to exit this gate in the mornings would eliminate the need for me (and others in my situation) to ride on the 70kph east gate raod in the dark of morning. There are paths that connect directly from the delivery gate to einsiedlerhof/vogleweh withpout crossing or using high speed roads. Just an idea...
