Winterberg trip report!
So I planned a quick trip to winterberg bike park for a day of riding. It took us a tad over 3 hrs leaving from Ramstein dealing with Frankfurt after work traffic. Arrived around 8pm to our hostel which was 250m from the bike park. Pretty big hostel that primarily catered to the bike park and the ski slopes in the winter. For 30€ a night it included a typical German breakfast. Woke up early and it was a downpour. Thankfully it cleared up before we rode out to hit the lifts. All day lift ticket was 29.50€. Bike rentals were available along with gear. They had Giant Glories 1 and 2's along with Santa Cruz v10's. Wasn't too packed early and was nice riding. 2 trails were closed due because of construction of a new lift and the north shore was closed due to being too wet early on. It opened later in the day. We stuck to the free ride, free cross and 4 cross tracks in the morning and hit the north shore later on. It was a little wet, not too muddy and very fast and fun. A little bit of carnage from the other two guys. A little blood and bruises. I almost lost it pretty bad when my rear axle decided to come loose and almost come out after a table top. Later in the day we hit the north shore. Only the upper section was open that led to either the downhill or the free ride. We opted to take the downhill as it didn't look too bad. We were wrong. Some big drops and lots of steep slick mud. Made it through with some commitment but decided not to try again. All in all it was a nice park. Lines were short. No longer than 5 min waiting during the peak. Trails were fast and flowing. Well groomed. We ended up making 14 trips down. My hands were fried so we quit around 4ish. We stayed another night so we could relax and head home in the morning. Fun trip and will be going back soon.

Nice would love to hit this park or any others with some decent notice so I can plan accordingly.
