Downhill trip from ODR
There is a DH trip planned by ODR

I am trying to find out the details about lodging, whether or not $199 covers the lodging. If lodging is included it is a good deal, if it is not, then not so good.

Lodging is included not the lift tickets though. I was going to go, but I didn't think it was that good of a deal.

Re: Downhill trip from ODR
Yeah that is a little steep, especially for those that will have to rent bikes.
Even though I have my own bike, that's still rather expensive. I can find some hotels in Colmar for 60€ a night and then the wife can hang out in town while I ride during the day and probably be the same cost.
We are having to buy a new car this week (not by choice), so I am probably not going to bother.
Would you guys be interested in organising our own downhill weekend at this place since it is not far away? I am always looking for people to ride with.

Absolutely would be interested in organizing our own trip. I did some research on the lodging and the area of La Bresse as well and wasn't sure what the high price was for; ODR is usually pretty reasonable.

What rates did you find?

Do they have a camp ground? Went camping in Soelden Austria last year. Have some nice trails there and a nice camp ground. You guys want to do some local parks or shuttles? flowtrail in Stromberg and Ottweiler. Also still want to check out the park in Beerfelden. I know some nice trails to shuttle on this side of the Pfalzerwald.

I want to go somewhere lift assisted for some trips. My DH bike isn't much for pedalling and pushing it isn't too much fun. I rode Leogang last year after the World Cup was over and I wouldn't mind going back there again; the WC course was a blast. It is a fun trip if you go to watch the WC then ride afterwards. Last year was absolutely epic, I watched Aaron Gwin win the race with no chain!
Although, the bike park in Czech (Špičák) is friggin awesome - short lift right, cheap, and a lot of trails to piece together different runs. I did two back-to-back days of riding at Špičák last summer. They host one of the IXS Cup races there. I haven't been to Beerfelden yet, but I want to.
I want to check out the Ottweiler trail; I didn't know about it till this past winter. I went to Stromberg a lot last year and will go back some this summer too.
Don't know about campgrounds, but I left all my camping stuff in the US so hotels for me (especially if wifey comes along).
