Dan taco'd his front wheel on a rock that was definitely smaller than 29", and I apparently got shivved by a pointed stick or something into the back of my calf during my second overconfidence crash if the day. At this point, I am a little worried about the puncture wound, it feels like it got into some muscle tissue... I didn't know the extent until after I rode home and started cleaning up. As long as it doesn't go gangrenous, I'll live to ride another day. Dan will be shopping for stronger, stiffer 26" wheels... Just kidding Dan, that kind of breakage sucks.

I was able to finish the ride with DaBurn to show him the route. Even enjoyed a nice beverage after. That is the second 29er wheel I have seen taco on a normal crash. Kendall's was much worse, but just saying...

Define normal... Question

I don't think wheels were meant for slamming against rocks. I didn't see the rock after the jump. I cleared the first one no problem. It was that second one that got me. That's what I get for tailgating on the trail. Crying or Very sad

As long as it didnt end with a trip to the ER it couldnt have been that bad. Did anybody get any pics?

The pic to get would have been me slamming his wheel on the ground to get it straight enough to ride. The sad lookin in his puppy dog eyes, followed by the horror of what I was doing to his wheel.
