Jan 7 or 8: Trail Ride

Anyone up for a trail ride this weekend? I'd like to go out for a 5-hour ride or so, starting at a reasonable daylight time. Annweiler? Neustadt? Rodalben? W00g? Should be great weather for riding!

This weekend is my second to last of master’s classes. After that, I will be up for 5 hour plus rides on weekend days that are forecasted to be relatively dry. The 3 hours of wet riding last week kicked my a$$.

Okay, I'd like to get out of the house for 5 hours, that can include the doeners and beer, and all BS sessions in between the parking lot and the wash rack.

I am game for sunday. You want to explore around Annweiler? I am game for anywhere but Neustadt on Sunday. I want to hit Neustadt on the 16th it a U.S. Holiday so not to many hikers will be out.

Yeah, Annweiler is definitely cool. I would rather save Neustadt for after my trail bike is fixed, anyway. So Annweiler Sunday, then!

What time is good for you?

I'd like to go easy and say 10am to ensure a chillaxing weekend.

It is a 3-hour train ride, very indirect. I'll come by car, so we can meet anywhere practical. May as well stick with Annweiher Bf, since we must make a loop anyway.

I would join you guys tomorrow, but an hour and a half each way by train is a little much. I'f I get a wild hair I'll be at the station at 0957.

You buys caught a break with the weather today for sure. Congrats. I am going to take advantage of the nice weather and hit both of the mtb's with some fresh Gore cables. Time permitting I will put the new bushing/bearings in the rear suspension too.

I think we will call this the Rinnthal Hell Ride.
Eurotrash and myself got a late start in Annweiler but the weather was working with us. The trails were very wet and soggy but still rideable. There was a little of everything road, fire roads and sweet sweet single track. The climbs were almost all stupid steep and went on forever. It made the Neustadt trail look flat, at least they weren't very technical.

Wow, looks like a great ride. I would love to try this one before I head up north to the flatlands.

Was in GK last Friday. It is FLAT there. You better get a good car rack because you will be driving to use your downhill rig.

It is not a dowhill rig, just a proper XC bike.
