Re: Stew Ride anyone??
Plan for tomorrow is trying out a new course. Looks like Jim is in...and maybe Chris. Please post up if you are definite, or maybe, along with whether you will make It afterwards for food.
We will be rolling out the same way as usual, so this doesn't change anything for linking up with you, Jim. Dress warmly...the valleys can be frigid!
Details:
0900
Am Kahlenberg 15, Bann 66851
2ish hr ride with several climbs, pace will be Influenced by group and course, but it's a no drop ride...except on the climbs.

Can't make it this week. I do like the idea of shortening the rides as I rack up almost 20 miles riding to and from your house.

Fog delay
Jim,
Looks like you and I are the only ones planning on riding. Pretty bad fog in Bann right now. I can hardly see my neighbor's house. You had mentioned that you are going swimming after the ride, so we could either postpone the ride, ride cross bikes, or cancel the ride. Let me know.
PS...PM me your number...I PMed you mine.

Re: Stew Ride anyone??
Here is the route that we went on today. I thought it was pretty good and my legs are saying that it was painful.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I am pretty sure that the speed is off somewhat because I know that I did not go 135.7mph today.
Looking forward to more stew rides with more rides only had three today, Thank Chris and chad.

Re: Stew Ride anyone??
I don't know, Jim...we were really flying a few times! Was a nice route, but I agree, would have been nice to have a few more riders. We contested two climbs and one sprint...kind of. You'll have to come out to find out who's winning them. We can continue to tweak the route a bit, but I think that around 35mi will be a good distance for most of us. Chris came in to warm up and have some good eats. Was good to have ya, Chris. See you all in a couple of weeks for the next Stew Ride. Thanksgiving weekend is a 4-day, so should probably be good.

Re: Stew Ride anyone??
Really enjoyed the ride company/pace and though it was freezing...the scenery was pretty awesome. Is it just me...or does everyone get a little gitty knowing that we get to ride/train in Europe year round. Tell Nicky...thanks again for the post ride meal!

Re: Stew Ride anyone??
You are quite welcome for the meal, Chris. Nikki enjoys seeing cold, tired and hungry guys scarf down what she cooks!
Looking for a bigger turn out on the next Stew Ride...probably the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Post-Thanksgiving Stew Ride
Well, it's been 2 weeks, so it's time for the next Stew Ride(#3) We have shortened the course to about 35miles, so if you want more miles, then feel free to ride to/from Bann. We will leave my place at 0900. Here's Jim's GPS of the last ride two weeks ago. ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) Great way to work off those big meals this week! Post up if you're coming, and whether or not your are interested in stew.

Only have one taker for the Stew Ride, so it will be leaving a little later, at 1100, and we'll hold off on the stew this week. I'm sure that everyone is just waiting for the really cruddy weather, to join the ride :O)

Some how I was unable to link into the site for about a week...my wife finally saved me with her internet skills. Are you guys leaving from the same location? 1100 is a good time?

Re: Stew Ride anyone??
Was a good ride, but hella cold and windy. Chad, Chris and Tim rolled out at about 1115. We added to our list of Stew Ride mechanical issues w/ Tim's loose crank at about mile 25. Made it home intact, although were dealing with some bonking legs. Three KOMs and a sprint were contested, with all feeling the burn early on the Stelzenberg climb. I'm really hoping that they don't drag us up and down too much of those Stelzenberg climbs next week in the cyclocross race. No stew this week, but we wolfed down nearly an entire bag of those gingerbread windmill cookies and some warm tea to try and bring the color back to everyone's faces.
Planning to do it all over again in a couple weeks. Come on out and the fun...maybe there'll even be snow!

Good ride gents! The cold wind definitely took its toll, but it was a good time regardless.
See you next go around.

Nice work guys. I do miss Erik's post ride reports though!
I've made it a point to avoid any future Sunday commitments and I will be there next time!

Stew week
Planning on another stew ride this week. Sunday is looking cold, but hopefully dry. I will assess the situation and post up by 0730(or first light) whether we are going or not. Ride leaves from my place in Bann at 0900. Course is 35mi w/ a couple of good climbs. We're going to start posting the KOM and sprint points...just for fun, since MJ wants more colorful post ride reports. Please post up up if you are interested in having stew afterward. See you Sunday.
