RAB Road Ride -- 6 Aug 2011

Anyone interested in a group road ride Saturday @ 0800 out of RAB...South Fitness Center? Would like to shoot for 40 miles with an average speed of 17-18 mph. Will hit the flat roads...some hills...etc.

A road ride sounds like a blast. But, I am way out of cycling shape.... I don't know if I'd make it 40 miles at that pace.............. But, I can try

We can slow the pace if necessary...not to mention...I can do the majority of the pulling if required.

Please tell me that there are more roadies in K.M.C. Is there a secret hand shake that will make everyone come out of the wood work. Where are all the folks that were talking about watching the Tour De France?

I watched the 2007 Tour stage 1 start and finish LIVE. Does that count?

Im a road/mountain rider. Im just sans mountain bike right now due to geographical complexities And my condor squadra is plotting for revenge due to my not riding it enough since purchasing it in the UK 5 yrs ago.

Oh, am I push my self. No pulling needed :p

Chris, I am racing this weekend so I don't think I will be up for a ride this weekend but I should be a go next week. Check out the Quidersbach group ride.

I remember you stated that the group rides on Tuesday and Thursday...what time did you say they meet and where in Quidersbach? Are you racing a triathlon this weekend? Took the mountain bike out to Lundstuhl Castle for the second time...the trails are amazing!

I am sure that watching the tour in 2007 counts for something...just not sure yet. It looks like there should be at least four folks in the morning...had to contact folks using alternate sources.

I road ride MWF usually. There isn't really a moderate paced group road ride so I usually ride by myself. I am not fit enough for the Tues/Thurs group rides. I have been hoping to make some lunch rides on base as I work right by the pool and the showers are too easy not to use.

Weekends get tough because that is when we get long Mtb rides in.

Do you have any information on the Tues/Thurs rides? When you say not fit enough...what is the average speed? Additionally, what is considered a moderate paced group speed here?

I am hesitant to ride in the middle of the day...too much time away from the job. Works out better to ride in the afternoon. Hope we catch a ride in the future.

Sorry I didn't make it this morning. I woke up and was not feeling well.... Then I proceeded to sleep till 1300 LOL I guess my body knew what it needed.

No worries...the crowd was a little lite...2 of us rolled out. Knocked out 50 miles...weather was excellent.
