Spring Club Events
Sounds like things are starting to roll along nicely with some Spring MTB tours/marathons. We are in the planning phases for several other club events. Would like to have a "KMCC Meet and Greet" for prospective new members to meet the club and go on a road or MTB ride. We were originally looking at the Woog for the 6th, but looks like people may be doing the CTF Rund um den Summervald in Pirmasens that day. Justin is working on a bike rodeo w/ Ramstein CYS, and we are looking at the weekend of May 19/20 for that. I'll keep everyone in the loop as these events progress, and I hope we can get a good turn out to help generate some KMCC momentum for he new season.
Also, keep in mind the U.S. Forces Europe Mountain Bike Championship Series. There will be 4 races this year in Hohenfels, K-town, Bamberg and Garmisch. One each month from June to September. It would be great to have a nice showing at these events. I'm quite sure that some KMCC talent could bring home the hardware! There is a Facebook page about the events, so check it out.
Thanks all,
Chad

Dates for spring events
First of all...thanks to eurotrash for the work on the Meet and Greet flyer. The flyer has the 19th on it, but that weekend has been secured w/ Ramstein CYS for a bike rodeo...more to come. Other available dates for the Meet and Greet are the May 5/6, 12/13(Mother's Day), 26/27(Memorial Day weekend). We could easily push it into early June as well. Please post up about possible conficts with these dates and we will make a decision soon. We will be having an ad hoc meeting for planning of the bike rodeo, so stay tuned.
Thx,
Chad

I wouldn't use memorial day weekend either. Too many families take vacations over that weekend.

Re: Spring Club Events
We were talking a bit while playing polo on Saturday. The 20th sounded like it might work ... which would make a full weekend of KMC Cycling goodness.
If we are going to go with the 20th, let’s make the call and spread the good word!
Thoughts?

Re: Spring Club Events
Ya, I think that the 20th could work...as long as we can get enough volunteers for both events. The meet and greet will not be very labor intensive, just want lots of faces from the club out there to make a nice showing. We will also need some ride leaders. Looks like we will need about 10 volunteers for the bike rodeo on the 19th. Let's go ahead and make it the 20th and move forward.

Spring Meet-and-Greet Event Coverage
We're looking for volunteers to help staff the meet-and-greet on Sunday, May 20th, between 10am-3:30pm. Coverages required are:
-set up an easy-up tent with the club banner, some chairs, and a maintenance station
-minimum of 2, preferably 4 to staff the kids' ride (1 hr, 10km flat loop around the Gelterswoog ponds)
-leaders, riders, and sweepers for both the MTB ride and road ride (minimum 3 for each, more is better)
-ice chests, non-alcoholic beverages, carb-laden snacks
I can lead out the kids ride and participate in the setup and MTB ride. Anyone willing to help, please post below with the event or item you can contribute to.
Thank you all for making this a successful event and helping draw more riders into our cycling community. We're on our way to representing a wide range of bike riding interests, let's keep the club rolling strong!

Re: Spring Club Events
I'll be there for the Rodeo on the 19th and Meet & Greet on the 20th. I'll help with the road ride, as I think we have more mountain riders.
Can someone put the information for both events on the front page of the website, in case we get hits and they do not continue to the forum. I'm working with KA on running a two week ad, details to come. Also, someone plugging RYS might attract some attention, as well as a Facebook post on Nelly's page, as well as our own.
Justin - how can we help with the Rodeo prep?

Re: Spring Club Events
Whats the deal for food on Sunday? I will gladly donate some cash if someone wamts to get a deli tray or something.
Re: Spring Club Events
We can't barbecue at G-Woog (Zenkem), so we're planning to bring our own food. Keeps it simple, and we can hang out afterwards as people's schedules allow. I'm bringing my EZ-UP and a couple of tables. Looking forward to it...pray for sunshine!

Proposed road ride for G-woog Meet and Greet on Sunday
Here's the link to the proposed road ride for tomorrow. It a little over 30 miles with some pretty tame climbing and nice secondary roads. We can adjust fire as needed, depending on the group that shows. Again...pray for sunshine, it worked for the rodeo today! Looking forward to seeing you all out there.

What time is the MTB ride? I can't download the PDF! It takes me to an upload link, and the flyer is cutoff on the edge.
