Recycling Panniers Empty Recycling Panniers

Post by MJ Fri Mar 09, 2012 9:10 pm

I thought we needed some action in this thread. Here is an example of a little DIY project. I constructed a few glass recycling panniers last sunday with some salvaged materials and a couple rubbermaid trashcans. Perfect for those non fund bottles headed for the village collection point or even a trip to the green waste pile. I made one for each color of glass and they sit in my kellar as collection containers, then quickly mount to my rack when full.

You can use your imagination here and repurpose some things you have around the house. For this project I used a few rubbermaid trashcans, some backing material from a dresser or entertainment center, old rubber bungee cord, a couple of those shoulder straps they include with camera cases and such and some hooks I purchased at TOOM (3 euro). If anyone wants some more pictures or the play by play, give me a shout!

Looks great MJ. I like your set up. What do you tour on that bike?
