Bike Rodeo - Boy Scout Volunteer Oppurtunity Empty Bike Rodeo - Boy Scout Volunteer Oppurtunity

Post by RobB Wed May 28, 2014 2:31 pm

KMC Cyclists: The Boy Scouts of America, Troop 166 are looking for a few volunteers to help out with a bicycle rodeo on 14 June. I would love to help out but I will be back in the states to finally retrieve my family. Details and the POC information for the rodeo are below if you are interested in helping out. If you have any questions, please email the POC or give me a call.

Rob, 480-2597.

The Boy Scouts of America are organizing an inaugural district bicycle rodeo (i.e. rally) on 14 June, 0900-1200 at Bldg 2151 (MXG). This is an
excellent opportunity to get safety and health messages to scouts and adults of all ages and increase bike rider awareness at the beginning of the 101
Critical Days of Summer. If you'd like to volunteer or participate please contact Ms. Felisa Leppo ASAP, ramsteinpack166@gmail.com.

BACKGROUND: Bicycle rodeo activities include Bicycle Safety, First Aid, Bicycle Maintenance and Repair, and even an Obstacle Course (cones on the
parking lot). The Boy Scouts are requesting volunteers in the following areas:

- Bike Patrol & SFS presence
- Fire Truck display w/tour experts
- Base Bike Safety presentation
- Nutrition booth/table (general nutrition and/or "Eat this, not that" presentation)
- Ambulance display w/tour experts
- If able at no cost, stand-by medical response
- Safety Observers, Crowd Control, and "Traffic Management" in-place during ride-out
- Bike Riders for Ride-out
- Education Station Volunteers (Bicycle enthusiasts; Troubleshooting Mechanic; Maintenance Educator)
- Obstacle course educator
- Set-up & Tear Down
