PCSing to Rammy
Hey guys,
I am moving to the Germ this summer and I can't wait to start touring Europe on my bike. I am a regular bike commuter and we are going to attempt being a one car household (just two of us). I have heard many great things about cycling in Germany and I am excited to explore it for myself.

Commuting is quite doable here, if you find a place to live that is within your acceptable range. The weather is decent for riding, although you will definitely want some fenders, and cold weather gear if you intend to ride through the winter. I have been commuting about 20km one way for the past 18 months quite happily, dividing my riding between a singlespeed and a road bike, depending on if I intend to ride for exercise at lunch time.
Hope to see you on the road.

Thanks Bobby,
I have all the gear I should need to commute year round though I have never ridden in snow. I ride a touring setup so I have fenders and larger than "road bike" tires. Do you have any recommendations on where I should try to live? I want to try to stay on paved roads or trails but gravel is acceptable. Dirt works too until it turns into mud...
