KMC Cycling Club Election for Officers FY13 - Nominations
It's that time of year again, where those pesky bylaws pop up and govern the official business of the Club- time to elect (or re-elect) the KMC Cycling Club Officers for FY 2013!
How it's gonna go (ah' been deputized by the Sheriff all official-like, and get the say-so):
* Nominations will begin today, and run for two weeks (10 October). This should give everybody enough time to decide whose name to throw in the hat, and for those nominated, whether to accept.
* On 10 October, this thread will be locked, and elections will be held in polling threads, per position.
* There will be a 2-week window for polling that will conclude on the 24th of October.
* Coronation and prominade shall commence at our Fall Event (to be titled appropriately by MJ) that will be held on the 27th of October.
There will be no election for the position of Vice President or Vice Treasurer. Those two positions will default to the runner-up, if any. That is a democratic solution in lieu of separate elections for those positions, freeing valuable nomination slots.
If you nominate one person for more than one office, take a moment to consider the paradox that will be created. Time itself will collapse and implode, or the bylaws will have to be consulted, which is almost the same thing. In the end, it would be best if nobody was on the ballot twice.
Current Officers are automatically nominated if they have one year of longevity in the KMC.
Open positions are:
President
Secretary
Treasurer
Community Outreach
29erSupport Sympathy Group Counselor (edited)

Re: KMC Cycling Club Election for Officers FY13 - Nominations
I wanted to keep this in the scroll. Current officers are automatically nominated, so long as they have a year of longevity. I know the current President will be here for a year, and I am pretty sure the Secretary will be.
What about the other officers?
Who is the current outreach coordinator?

I think the outreach coordinator was/is our current president, but left vacant after being elected, sort of.

Re: KMC Cycling Club Election for Officers FY13 - Nominations
I was under the impression that dual-hat officers were prohibited, leaving the position vacant.
If there is not an asterisk next to the name in post #2, then that person has been nominated this cycle. Incumbent officers with a year or more until DEROS are automatically nominated, so their names have asterisks.
Reminder, please post nominations in this thread or PM me with a nomination. One week to go, and we need one more nomination each for President and Treasurer to populate the Vice positions with the runners-up.

Reminder that the deadline is near! Talk to your friends, ask other members if they have not posted to do so. No debates, no dirty politics- Just bike rides and beer here, so shake off that election-o-phobia you're getting from the TV this fall. We're in it for each other, the peeps we roll with!
