Z,

If no one has one, I have some options for you:

In the past I have used a piece of pine 2x4 of wood about 14" long and a leather mallet. First I would use the mallet to tap the cups of the headset into the frame slightly, square to the frame. Then place the block of wood on top of the cups and then give the 2x4 stout smacks until the cups were seated in the frame.

Lately thou I did invest about 10 euros into a headset press from OBI. go to OBI, get a long stout bolt, thick washers, a nut for the end of the bolt, and using various spacers and other bits, make a press out of the long bolt and washers. Then a socket wrench and open end wrench are used as the handles. This works just as well as any Park headset press and is almost exactly what their cheapo head set press is anyway.

Now, belive it or not I prefer the block of wood method over the press. It is fun to bang on $100+ parts and $400 frames when they are brand new...

THX PB, I've done the rubber mallet on a flat wood surface trick before and it worked great. I also have some all-thread with washers which I'll use if there isn't HS press available. It was just so much easier last month when I went to Frank's and he let me use his press. I don't really wanna wear out my welcome there, they might think I'm taking away their business. This isn't my frame I'm screwing up so I'd like to use the right tool for the job...

THX all for the input, we went with the homemade (all-thread) headset press...
