Trippstadt dirt park - 20 May

Post by eurotrash on Thu Apr 26, 2012 8:00 pm

Let's strap on the crash pads and go play on the tracks at Trippstadt. They've been busy turning that spot into a first class dirt jump park, and I wanna go play. Let's get out early so we don't embarrass ourselves get ahead of the peak!

At 43 I keep the rubber on the ground as much as possible. Me in the air=pain.

That's where you're both wrong. You on the ground = pain!
C'mon, they have a beginner's track and a pump track. Riding a pump track will make you a better, more flowing mountain biker. You know, gain speed on the corners and transitions, float over roots and rocks, and load for traction on switchbacks. It ain't all about doing backflips over gaps.

Yeah, 0800 ought to be right. It is not far from the Woog, so we can hurry over there for the meet-and-greet event afterward. That is, if Rettungsdienst doesn't have to haul us out in their Fischfleischwagen. affraid

From Ramstein, it's only 20 minutes. Gonna hit the park for about 2 hrs early, then head over to the Gelterswoog for our club meet-and-greet ride event.

I think it's best to postpone. See you at the Woog around 1030.

Search tool is useful. Anyone know where I can get some photos of this place. I'm about to uncork my dirt jump bike from it's box out of my HHG!

Dude, it is really close. Give the place a visit. For a jump park, I give it four stars. No toilet and a few funky transitions, but overall it is a good park for intermediate to advanced riders.

Yeah that might be my problem. I haven't rode dirt jumps in so long I'm a novice.

It can be scary. There are beginner lines, because that's what I ride. Still worth the very short drive. I'll hit it with you on Thursday or Friday if you want.

I see a ton of bike bikes in the photos.... Maybe I should bring that instead of my DJ bike.

Definitely bring the DJ. You won't regret that. I'm furloughed Fri also.

My DJ bike is 24" though with a 72 degree head angle - it's basically a BMX cruiser frame with an elevated headtube to accomodate an MTB fork. I already see logs and stairs in the photos, those will suck on this bike I have. I'll get the DH bike together and maybe get my 26" hard tail (Evil Imperial) together in time it will be fine on some of that stuff. I can see this could be a place for two bikes :-D
