Annweiler - Madenburg - Leinsweiler - Annweiler Empty Annweiler - Madenburg - Leinsweiler - Annweiler

I went out exploring today and got a pretty good ride in. I started at the bahnhof in Annweiler rode up to the to the castle then on to Madenburg and Leinsweiler and back to Annweiler. It was around 24km and 700Hm. I went by two castles(trifels and Madenburg) and some ruins. The trail was about 75% fireroad, but the views were awesome. At one point you could see all the way to the northen portion of the black forest. The sigle track was nice and not very technical although it was very steep and hazardous in some places. It will be better when it is dry and clear of the 4 inches of leaves. Since I forgot to turn my gps on until i was well under way, i will post the link that i got the tour from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] THe climbs were insanely steep at times, but since they were on a fireroad they werent too difficult. If any one wants to get out and check this area out with me, drop me a line. I am already planning the next adventure.

Hmmm, this weekend? Have to check the forecast, but it's looking good.

edit: Oh, and the climb to Trefels is stupid steep, at least coming from the valley.
