I was planning on going out Thursday night to dig into the scene. I ain't sleeping on the ground when I have a camper, so I guess I'll have to make base camp in an area not on the track. That means I won't be holding ground on Scheiß-Ami Ecke, no Steve to drink with... Maybe I'll have to revise my plan. What are the other six of you planning?

If we show up early Thur, I'm sure we'll be able to get your camper right next to where we set up last year...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is for the Soccer field (infield) only....

I sent an email to Phaty to clarify...

Looks like I was wrong, here's what he had to say:

Phaty:
Yes Camper van is a Problem tents are Not if he comes with a Camper he can't Camp with The Rest of the Team ... Make him think about that

On a positive note, the DFL jersey's are on they're way (Priority Mail)...

Bah. So does that apply to the soccer field only? I mean, are they closing the whole damn place off to vehicles, or can I park up the road past the track and be in the clear? I can't access the SiS site to read up. Maybe Scheiß-Ami Ecke is going to be more of a picnic area... Do you have any guidance on this, or is the policy going to be show-up-and-deal-with-it for 500 participants?

When he says "can't Camp with The Rest of the Team " he means no campers on site...SiS as a venue is a team...

its real simple, there are no vehicles allowed on site. drop the gear and go find parking. there is parking along side the road as you drive up to the field. It is suggested thats folks car pool. parking is very limited this year.

Addittional info for SiS:

make sure that they try to do some car pooling if possible! That is the key for the survival of SiS in Weidenthal - as green as possible as car-free as possible!

I was planning on arriving Friday early afternoon to set up.

I have my tent/fest pavilion from 2 years ago that I'll bring. It seemed to work rather well 2 yrs ago to link all the tents together so I'll throw mine in as a part of the mix.

I plan on going solo as of now but could join up with someone if they'd like....

If all goes well I will bring my 6 man tent and set up Thursday... It being a 'six-man' tent means it could realistically sleep about three grown men ... Any more than that might get a little wierd...I'll have two air mattresses as well. I'll also bring my fire-pit/schwenk grill, and may treat y'all to some mighty good pulled pork on Friday... Or even Saturday... Nothing like grinding up those climbs with a belly full of BBQed pork!

Looks like there has been a few changes to how those attending wanna ride. Based on the info I've received the below list is how we have those attending set up to ride:

Team DFL (John, Mark, Matt and Daniel)
gsmolin (George), Mike Larson and Jonesy (Team Name TBD)
Kendall Riding Solo

***FOR THOSE NOT SHOWN ABOVE***

If you think you MIGHT be interested in attending this event of the season let us know so we can get you on the list. You do not need a team to participate, we will fit you in...

You guys better come up with a name that is fitting. No pressure but it will hard to beat DFL.

Here's an updated list of riders/teams based on the info I've received:

Team DFL (John, Mark, Matt and Daniel)
gsmolin, MJ, Jonesy and VeloDoc (Team Name TBD)
Kendall Riding Solo

***FOR THOSE NOT SHOWN ABOVE***
Again, if you think you MIGHT be interested in attending this event of the season let us know so we can get you on the list. You do not need a team to participate, we will fit you in. I am looking to submit this to SiS soon...

That is going to be a fast ass team. The name TBD is kind of weak though. Does it stand for totally bad dudes?

Maybe this year KMC Cycling will bring home some Hardware!!! When I say "Hardware", that exactly what you'll get...

I've been talking with Phaty and here's some info to help you prep for SiS:

- Cost is 40€ per rider for the weekend (to be collected sometime before Saturday night), even if you just plan to ride
- No open fires to include BBQ’s, gas grills are alright
- No vehicles allowed in area to include campers, you can drive a vehicle in to unload but must leave asap
- Camp site just down the road but has no involvement with SiS Disregard, this is a private site, no public access
- Parking will be limited so participants are encouraged to car pool if possible
Quote: “As green as possible as car-free as possible!”

Please plan accordingly!!!

I will be going out Thursday afternoon with my truck to secure our location. Please let me know if you would like me to take something out for you such as EZ-up (I have one but we need at least three) tents and tables(a fest table would be nice). Also, I'm still looking for a small gas grill. Last year it was really nice to cook up a Schwank at 0330hrs in the morning.
