Limurgsmooiste '11(Holland Road /MTB ride
This one for the whole biking community. They got somthing for both road and MTB ers 25 June 2011. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] You can pre-register or you can sign up the day of. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive to the start, and is up near AFNorth/Shinnen AO. I have done the 110k in prevoiuse years and had a blast.
If you are a roadie or like riding the road every once in awhile this is an awesome ride. If your a MTB and want to see some of the trails in Holland and Belguim then come on out. This is one of the few events that I know of that Roadies and MTBers can meet up for a Beer later and talk about the ride. Heck if your ambitous maybe you can do a little of both! Peace!

This one looks very interesting. It is a week after the Gran Fondo in Liege. I want to get as much of these rides in before I leave in July. Chances I won't get any of these types of races/ rides/ atmosphere in the US. You looking at doing the 200k?

Kendall,
Looks like I have the go ahead to do this ride. Can I claim one of the seats you have? I am guessing, one can register the sameday for this? You driving up friday or saturday morning?
I did the Eddy Merckx Gran Fondo on Sat. I had 2 punctures in the first 12 miles. ended up doing the 125 km route, but with wind and rain the entire day, it would have been much better with a familiar face. Let me know what works best for you. Later.

The Gran Fondo 123k was actually closer to 145k, and the fierce wind and rain made it feel like 200k. But talk about a great event, can't wait to do it again next year.

Big Wheels, you are right, i thought my GPS was way off on the Gran Fondo. I would do it again, if I was going to be in germany. If you haven't ridden the Tour of Flanders, I would say ride that too in April. it is a sportiv.
Krock, I can do either. It's up to you. I don't know how my legs will feel after saturdays ride.
I plan on riding with the Q-bach group tues and thursday this week too.

If your roadie with nothing in particular to do on Sat. Its only a 2 and a half hour drive from here. You can register the day of the race. You get to ride a portion of the amstel gold race. There are many rest stops in various towns with a fest atmosphere. You'll cross into three different counties and get a free Beer at the end of the race. O by The way there will be about 1000 other roadies riding along with you. Showers, a bike expo and tons of beautiful European countryside.
