Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
No time to break the cadence! Monday will be a perfect day for the F-trail, since it isn't a German holiday. We can get a lazy start, and probably cross little foot traffic. I'd like to do the A-side counterclockwise, then maybe do the flowing section of the B-side in reverse (no, not reverse as in riding backwards, but you can if you want to).
I'm reckoning on 0900 at the Lidl. That's enough time for those hung over from the night before to recover. As always, I advocate carpooling - I have room for one additional rider, if interested.
Now... to help y'all get stoked, here's a vid:

You actually are going to get behind the wheel of a car? I thought we avoided the apocolypse last week?

Yeah, I still have some gas in my tank after topping off in January. That way, nobody can use the old wife-has-the-car excuse!

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
Doing the b-side in reverse last time i found out that the rest of it doesnt flow as nicely as that section... Might just try it fwd.
I might get out early and do one side then meet yall at 9. I just have to be on the road by 1130 so i may have to be anti social and cut out early.

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
Jonesy- I am throwing 0900 out there to generate interest. If it ends up being just me and Brian, I will quickly adjust fire and throw down for an early ride. I heard about the joys of the full B-side in reverse, I was thinking of riding the friendly portion for some extra kilometers over the A-side. This is my last chance to ride a greater distance before Bliesgau.

I might be game. I am dropping my fork off at toxoholics first thing in the morning. I will be riding the hardtail, that should be fun.

Good choice steve. You will be saving yourself $$$ by getting the work done before there is damage.

I am definatly down for Rodahlban. Hope you can make it Steve. Good luck with the fork. John, can you tell me how to get to Franks or Frankies bike shop? Couldn't take notes when you told me before. How do I sign up for that marathon. I am down for that too.

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
OK, so, early birds; what time shall we meet, and do we want to carpool from landstuhl? My truck can carry two passengers and their bikes... John, james, how many can yours fit?
Also what time do we want to get started?

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
My rack is two bikes total right now. I'd like to start earlier again, I have to be back by noon. No restrictions on how early I go though, so I'm game for whatever, just not the B side in reverse again (better known as the "I'm pretty sure all the climbing is in the beginning" direction...). I can drive myself if my time restrictions get in the way of the plan.

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
Looks like Jonesy and Jamie are the ones with the schedule constraints, so I'll comply with you. I'm going to drive myself so that I have the option to continue on later. Also, I'll have an extra seat to extend to Brian, so give me a call when you can, powerpro. What will the start time be, early birds?

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
Well I'm under the same time restriction, and since you drove last time, I'll pull taxi duty this time.
Do you want to knock out the A-side again for the early ride? We were able to do it in under two hours so if we start ridiing by 7:00 we can be done with the B-side and meet the others at the gravel lot at 9:00ish.
That's if the sleep-in group wants to do the B-side in the 'doesn't suck' direction.
Shall I pick you up around 6:15ish?

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
I'd like to shoot for wheels rolling by 7:00 a.m. LAst time Jamie and I did the A-side together we kept a steady pace and were able to complete it in just under two hours, including stops.
Doing that, we ought to be able to meet up witht he rest of the crew at 0900 for the B-side

Okay, Jonesy and Jamie are a definite for the early ride. Brian and I are most likely down for it, too- just awaiting final confirmation. That leaves Spooky and Steve as maybes. This is shaping up to be a well-matched group, should be a good ride on a quiet Monday morning.

6:15 works for me, should give us plenty of time to put in an early lap and hit the bakery again. Singlespeeds again I presume?

Re: Monday, 30 May: Rodalben F-trail
I think im going with gears this time. There are some spots where i want to take away the SS excuse and see if i cant pull them off geared. Also depending on the mood of the crowd that shows, it might be fun to kind of treat it as a time-trial-ish and see just how quick we can complete the a-side...
What do you think?
