Sunday 26 June MTB and Road ride Mandern

Here is another of the rides put on by local or semi local clubs. This one has a road and a MTB route. Who is in?

I am down for the 70KM. Looks like it might be fun, but not much single track. Is sign up by e-mail for this one?

you sign up and pay the 5 euros the morning of.

I am good to go; kitchen pass has been approved. You wanna lay down the plan for this one. Where are we meeting? When?

If anyone is interested, RR and myself are rolling out at 0700. I still have room for one more person and bike. Drop me a line around 0600 and we can work out a meeting point.

What a great day to ride!! Road Rage and I started riding around 0830. As usual it started out with a nice little bikepath fire road climb. After about 2km it dropped into to some really tight twisty and rooty single track. lot of off camber stuff and really tight turns. Then surprise!! back to fire roads. It kept switching between fire roads and really sweet single track. There were obstacles there that I have never rode before. Ladder bridges and wood planks to balance, all kinds of cool stuff, there was even a creek crossing. The creek was about 2meters wide and a foot deep. The last descent was the gnarleyest descent I have ever rode. It was full of roots and hairpin turns with knee high drops. This thing was steeper then the descent coming down from the tower on the woog ride and made the rock garden look like smooth asphalt. It was very challenging and a hell of a ride. I recommend hitting this one up next year. The scenery was awesome. It was a lot of fire roads, but the single tracks sections made up for it.
