Geomangear light recall
Got this from the Geomangear website:
Recall
To Our Valued Geomangear Customers,
GeoMangear has stopped selling Magicshine's lithium-ion battery packs that were included with the MJ-808 and MJ-816 headlight sets and the MJ-818 taillight sets sold by Geomangear between June 2009 and November 2010 due to our concerns regarding the safety, quality, and performance of those battery packs. The MJ-808 and MJ-818 batteries are either shrink-wrapped and enclosed in a nylon-velcro case or enclosed in a metal canister inserted into a fabric sleeve. All of the MJ-816 batteris are enclosed in the metal canister inserted into a fabric sleeve. We have determined that these two Magicshine battery packs do not meet Geomangear's high expectations regarding product safety, quality, and performance. We have notified both the manufacturer of Magicshine lightsets and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission that Geomangear intends to voluntarily recall all Magicshine battery packs that were included with MJ-808, MJ-816, and MJ-818 light sets sold by Geomangear.
We are actively working with the Safety Commission, outside engineering consultants, and a new battery pack supplier to evaluate product recall options for our customers. Geomangear will provide recall information and instructions directly to our affected customers after our final corrective action plan has been approved by the Safety Commission. We also are working with Magicshine to support our recall efforts and hope to resume offering their lightsets for sale.
If you bought a Magicshine lightset from us between June 2009 and November 2010, please discontinue using your lightset until we are able to provide you with a recall remedy. Despite our best efforts, this process will take some time, and we ask for your patience. You can rest assured that Geomangear has taken, and will continue to take, appropriate steps to protect the safety of our customers, and we will stand behind our products. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your continued loyalty and support during this unprecedented situation our company is facing.

Got this email about 2 months ago... Probably should have posted up.
They catch on fire during the charging process. (Inside info) But there are still safe ways to charge your battery. I have been using mine everyday since the "re-call" Light me on fire!

Re: Geomangear light recall
RC Car enthusiasts use them all the time. Devices that cut off power to the charging device when the battery reaches max capacity.
Or you can just do what I do... Set the battery in the charger for 3 hours(when completely dead) and sit on the computer, watch tv, etc etc and just keep an eye on the battery. Once that light turns green yank it off the charger. If you even more paranoid touch it every 20 mins or so. If it gets abnormally hot pull the plug.
The Recall was initiated because the batteries where over charging and going "boom"
