Re: The best deals are at...
For those of you who do not know, there is a coupon code for Backcountry.com and its other websites available on AKO.
This code will get you between 20 and 30% off of qualified items. If the item is already on sale it will give you the better deal of the two. Just type in 3MW-1-XANFR in the coupon code box at check out and you will be able to see what items qualify. Shipping to APO is usually free. Sometime it charges you anyway but if you email them the will fix it. Over $50 is free anyways.
It works on the following sites
www.backcountry.com
http://www.hucknroll.com/
www.realcyclist.com/
www.dogfunk.com/

For those of you planning or riding at Schlaflos and who do not have lights, Wheelsports aka Franks has a very nice light set for 100 euros. that should be 80 after you take of the VAT. It is from My Tiny Sun and is 900 lumens. This light had some really good reviews last fall in the german bike mags.

Jeezus, they have a hundred models of 29ers they're overstocked on... could all the 650b/27.5 hype actually be then end of the floppy-wheel bikes? Talk about unintended consequences.

Copied this from the Jenson FB page. This is good info. I have had folks ask me in the past about certain online shops and when checking them out, they were obviously a scam. What is clear to some is not always clear to others. Help each other out.
It should go without saying, but be advised that legitimate online bike shops do not operate out of Nigeria, Indonesia, or Singapore.
If you are seeing a "too good to be true" price on a name-brand bicycle from a store that only accepts Western Union as payment, you are being scammed. Don't be fooled.
How to avoid being a victim:
1. Know who you are dealing with. Not being able to reach a store via telephone is a major red flag.
2. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer if store X is a legitimate retailer of their products.
3. Never send your personal bank account information to an online seller. This information is not needed to process orders and no legitimate store would ask for it.

Best part is they put a pocket in the front side for your junk. Not sure what that means, but bravo...I guess. Might make resale a little hard knowing someone elses junk was in the pouch.

They caused a sh$tstorm when they mentioned Singapore based on the comments. I attribute it to the American's geographical illiteracy.thedude76 wrote:Copied this from the Jenson FB page. Screw Assos and Rapha for that matter.
