Trierer X-Duathlon
I just registered for the Trierer X-Duathlon on Sunday 10 March. I am no where close to race shape, but decided to use this as motivation to train. I registered for the volksduathlon(5k-12.5k-2.5k), not the longer version(5k-25k-5k). For anyone who is interested, this is a very well run off road duathlon that is only an hour and 15min away. The short course is reasonable, and the long course is brutal. There should be an opportunity to go and pre-ride the course, and I will post up if anyone is interested.
Here is the info page w/ links for registration. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Very hilly race. Be prepared for uphill running.

Re: Trierer X-Duathlon
Don't let Spooky scare you away...his memory of the race was clouded by hypoxia By and large the running course is fairly tame. You head out downhill on a mostly flat 2.5km loop, so coming back is uphill toward the end. The bike course is a 6km loop which is almost entirely uphill for the first half, and back down on the second half. Nothing technical on either course.

Did this race last year, and yes the first half of the bike course is all up, but the run course only has some stairs and the rest is gradual downhill and then uphill. Probably won't be around for this one though.

I would be interested in riding up with you. Where will you be leaving from?
Also, there are two days to check out the course, if you're interested. The first is today, and the next is the 24th at 1400.

Leaving from Waldfischbach. 24th sounds awesome. I can pick you up or meet centrally if we can get more involved. The van is a little slow, so need to give it a little extra drive time. We can put lunch in the fridge though.

Re: Trierer X-Duathlon
I'm in Bann, so we could hook up at my place or just off the A62 near Bann. I could drive for the pre-ride day, and you could drive for race day. Let me know.

Re: Trierer X-Duathlon
The official time for course recon is 1400. It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to get there, so lets leave at 1200. That gives us time to sort our stuff out and maybe I can show you the run course before we get on the bikes.
I will PM you my address and phone numbers.
