Mission Statement

The K.M.C. Cycling Club is a diverse group of people from across the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) brought together by a common interest in cycling and cycling advocacy. Whether through racing, group rides, community involvement or social events centered on cycling, K.M.C. Cycling's primary purpose is to further the sport of cycling in the KMC, and provide a valuable cycling outlet to its members. We are a not-for-profit organization that values diversity, friendship and, above all, a good ride.

It's time to get the ball rolling in earnest for the 2013 season! We will have our first "real" meeting of the year on Tuesday 23 April at 1930. It will be done in conjunction with the weekly Tuesday night ride from Burg Nanstein. The ride leaves at 1800, and we will have a reservation at the Burgschaenke restaurant for 1930. I will post up an agenda 1 week prior to the meeting. Please post here or PM me with topics for the agenda. Hopefully the weather will be looking up by then!

Agenda for the club meeting at Burgschaenke on Tuesday:

1. Welcome any new members
2. 2013 Events- Race promotion and kids bike rodeo tentatively OFF, due to lack of support from promoting organizations on post. Consideration of other events, especially for club membership promotion
3. Treasurer's report- status of bank account
4. Upcoming events which we may want to have a large presence at, eg races, marathons, autofrei days.
5. Open forum
6. Adjournment

I'll be there for the ride and meeting. Thinking of bring the Trek so I can ride check it. When Matt came over to buy it, I discovered my bleed job on the rear brake was lousy.

Really nice turnout for the meeting yesterday. We had 11 in attendance, including 2 new folks! "Thanks" to Bobby for volunteering to take over the Community Outreach position. We hope to get some advertising out there in the community soon. John will post up the minutes, and we hope to see a solid group at the next meeting.
