Service: 2009 Trek Fuel EX 7
OK, in preparation for listing my Fuel for sale, I want to service the principal components of the bike. There is a complete list of parts here: 2009 Trek Fuel EX 7
The services I particularly want to accomplish:
1. Front fork service (using service kit) (Rockshox Recon 351 MoCo SoloAir 130mm)
2. Brake Service (replace pads/brake fluid) (Avid Juicy 3 w/185mm rotors)
3. Crankset/BB service (clean & relube)
4. F&R hub service (clean & relube)
5. True wheels
6. Check & lube rear suspension pivots
7. Headset service (clean & relube)
8. Drivetrain service (clean & relube) (potential replacement parts here, but derailleur cables are ~1 month old)
9. Clean & wax frame while disassembled
10. Rear shock service (Fox Float RP2 XV Air Can)
What I am trying to determine is what items I need to procure to accomplish the preceding list, and which tools I will need to complete the job. I have a basic bike tool kit (The VLC kit from Frank's) and a repair stand. I know I will need to buy a fork service kit, but am not sure what else special I will need to service the fork. Any help from the more experienced mechanics is welcome, especially any offers of loan of specialty tools. The new bike will also have a mix of Fox and Rockshox suspension, but the front fork is Fox on the new rig.

Fork seal driver for the forks
Strap wrench and vise for the rear shock, plus the $15 universal Fox rebuild kit
The rest is just standard tools.

If the fork and shock seals are not leaking oil or air, leave them alone, they are broken in.
Sometimes fixin' sum' ting that ain't broke, breaks something, that was not broke before.

If the brakes don't have issues, I wouldn't replace the fluid just to do it. The bleed kit s about $40 from avid.

I don't know how much you expect to get for it, but from my experiences around here I would not put much into it. Most people are going to low ball you anyway.

Bikes are like diamonds, you never get back the money you put into them...
But at least a bike is more fun to play with...

I have a bleed kit for Avids but I echo previous sentiments, just replace the pads, and unless you can pull the lever to the bar, keep the fluid as is.

Honestly, I would clean it as is, adjust the shifting so it is tight, true the wheels, add a bell, put reflectors back on the bike and sell it as "recently professionally tuned". If you have a set of new tires or can get some cheap, that will help sell it to the local crowd too. Having sold a couple bikes, that is the thing a new rider looks for more than the parts on it being top end. Someone has told them it has to have reflectors and a bell to be legal to ride in Germany and they will be assured if it has it already.

Re: Service: 2009 Trek Fuel EX 7
There are regular services that should be completed on a bike, which I need to do even if I didn't sell it. I am not going to sell a nice bike that needs servicing to be a good bike. I don't plan to do crazy work, but I will, at the least, lube everything anew, and do basic maintenance on the brakes, gear system and suspension.
I know I won't get much out of the bike, but I hope to get a new club member out of the sale, and don't want to give a new club member a bike in need of a lot of work.
If you have maintenance tools I would need to complete the above services, and are willing to loan them/help me use them, I would greatly appreciate your help.
