45+km Ride from Landstuhl (Sunday, 3 MAR @ 1000)
I am going for a road ride this Sunday, starting in Landstuhl at the Altenmarktplatz, heading out to Weselberg, Hermersberg, Steinalben, Schopp, Krickenbach, Linden, Queidersbach, Bann, Burg Nanstein, and then down to Altenmarktplatz. That loop is about 45km; if I am feeling strong I will go for a second, perhaps reduced, loop.
Any takers?
EDIT: This route has ~800Hm per loop.

I will be there. I will also be bringing a friend from Spangdahlem. See you a little before 1000.
It'll be sunny and above freezing for the first time in a while, so let's get a good group together for this one. I'm also assuming the snow melt has made most of the MTB trails too sloppy for you responsible, environmentally conscious Earth lovers on knobbies. Dust off the road bike and come join us.

Hopefully I don't prove too slow for the skinny bikes.
This season, I plan to divide my time between my road and mountain bikes; but have spent almost every weekend through the winter on the knobs. (Even bought spikes for the MTB) I commute on the road bike, but the route is too short and flat for real training.

You are riding your' road bike, right? That's what Mark and I will be on.
I've also been commuting through the winter on studded tires on my disc equipped, racked out CX/Touring bike. Heavy but comfortable. I love how the bike sounds like a tracked vehicle on the pavement and ice.

I'm in, but probably for just one loop. I have to get in a run as well, so will peel off in Bann. Looking forward to dusting off the road bike!

Mark and I will be doing only one loop also, since we're getting in an additional 35k with the round trip ride from my house. By the way, we're probably stopping at the Barbarosa Bakerei at 0945 in Landstuhl for a coffee and pastry prior to departure. All are welcome to join us.

Wat's the pace?
I could hang at about 25-28 kmh avg in a group right now, but I want to neither hold anyone up NOR get thrashed and tossed either.

Re: 45+km Ride from Landstuhl (Sunday, 3 MAR @ 1000)
I averaged 26 kmh on the reverse of this loop two weeks ago, and I am not planning to drop anyone. Of course, I was riding alone, and the weather was bitter, so I expect to get a little help from the pack, assuming anyone is willing to help me learn how. The road bike and I have mostly been a solo team, until now.

Only did one loop, but had a great ride. Thanks to Chad, Chris and Mark for coming out and riding. Average speed by my GPS: 26.6 kmh @~42km. I will post up again for 17 MAR for the next Sunday ride. I hope it is warmer, average today was 3 C.

Was a good ride...despite the seemingly constant headwind and frozen digits! Looking forward to getting out on the road more regularly.
