Trans Pfälzerwald Tour

Post by thedude76 on Tue Feb 12, 2013 5:06 pm

Howdy Y'all,
I have been wanting to do this for a while and i think it is time. Eurotrash and myself are planning a 3 day tour across the Pfalzerwald following the Pfalzer Weinsteig trail. The trail is 153km long(lots of singletrack) with 6,100Hm [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] . We will be starting in Neuleiningen (the castle ruins you see from the A6 when you are traveling towards Mannheim) and riding to Schweigen-Rechtenbach on the French boarder. We will be taking our time and enjoying the ride. We are not trying to set speed records. We plan on riding around 50km a day. All the details have not been worked out, but the dates are 7-10 June. We plan on staying in guesthauses along the way, a night of ninja camping might also be an option.

If you are interested in getting in on this drop me line and put in your leave.

Last meeting, I brought up a Pfalzerwald tour possibility, this is pretty much what I had envisioned! Don't know about the timing for me, but I am a "possible" on this one. Like the idea of ninja camping, can I bring my shurikens?

Any chance of shifting this cool ride to the next weekend (14-17 JUN)? I have a four day holiday that weekend.

Nope, not a chance. I already have leave approved. I had to turn my leave in for the entire year back in November. It will take an act of congress to get it changed and we know how well congress works.

Alright, I'll take another look, and make sure my warrant officer isn't on leave or in class that week. If he is at work, I will ask for that time off. I'll let you guys know next week sometime.
