I plan to do the singlespeed race, possible in Viking outfit, on my monkey bike... So you could probably use my mtb for the race.Zenkem wrote:Dose anyone plan to do the Single Speed Race??? When is the SS race? Are they going to throw them in a pile at the start? That would determine which SS I use.

Re: SIS Aug 2013
I believe it is earlier in the day on SAT, but 'Race' is really not the best descriptor. It is several laps around tge track, wearing a stupid costume... More of a gag/exhibition than a race.BigWheels wrote:When is the SS race? Are they going to throw them in a pile at the start? That would determine which SS I use.

Yah they do pile them up but I think they only pick on people they know. It's still not a good idea to bring a pretty bike.

With your shoulder, you're nit going to be riding again by SIS are you?
Also, i'll take you up on tge offer of the gas grill if you're still offering. When's a good time to get it?
Mark, if you wanna bring a propane bottle in case, that'd be a good idea...

I remember thinking how much it sucked for that guy hitting the tree and breaking his jaw at SiS last year. Little did I know my fate three months later would be to find out exactly what he felt.

Re: SIS Aug 2013
The army just called and said "You haven't retired just yet, we're going to screw you out of SIS one last time."
My participation just got canceled.
Sorry folks.
I may stop by and say hi Friday evening or Saturday sone time, but won't be there for the race itself, and don't feel like doing the campout if I can't ride.

Was that the guy from Big Wheel Racing, Michael Cleveland, who broke his jaw when his bike frame snapped?

Mark,
I have a gas grill w/propane that we can use this weekend. Only stipulation is that someone needs to pick it up and bring it out there. I don't have a vehicle that can haul it out there. If John has room in his man van, maybe he can take it out there. It is not a fancy grill by any means but I would say perfect for its purposes this weekend.
I will send you an email but I figured I would post something so other could see that the grill is covered.

I won't be there. I can't be that close to biking and not ride, and I can't ride. I can barely lift my arm.

Site setup is complete!!! Just wanted to clarify the entry fee is 40€ for the weekend and not what was stated previous, sorry for the confusion. Big THX to Brian for the use of his gas grill...it's a big hit already. See y'all out there for a fun filled Biking weekend!!!
