For Sale--Cyclocross/Commuter/Road bike
I am selling a cyclocross bike to make room for the N+1 equation. I haven't gotten a taker on my Rock shox fork, so I'll just build up a bike around it instead.
This is a bike I built up over the summer but have ridden all of once, so I obviously don't really need it as much as I thought when I built it.
It started out life as a Dawes Lightning Cyclocross bike from bikes direct back in 2009. It has been through a couple of different builds but here is what it lloks like now:
-Frameset-Dawes Lightning cyclocross frame, AL frame, Chromoly fork
-Drivetrain-Campy front and rear derailers from an older road bike... not sure the exact gearing or quality level, but it lookds mid-range, and is a 3X9 configuration.
-Cassette-- road cassette
-Wheels--No brand name on them, but maybe the stickers were taken off. They came off of the same odler road bike that the Campy drive train came from.
-Brakes-tektro cyclocross brakes
-HAndlebar-shifter etc.--Not sure about the handlebar but I imagine the shifters are part of the campy set as they also came off of that same road bike. Shifter hoods are in ROUGH shape, see the pictures.
I built it up and rode it once to test ride it. It rode fine, but I just haven't ridden it sicne, so you may have to ride it a bit and make adjustments etc. work out kinks and what-not.
I'm not sure about price, but if you are interested, make an offer... The bike was about 4999 when new from bikes direct, it now has some campy stuff on it, but alot of the parts have also seen some significant use. I'd consider it a foul-weather road bike/cyclocross bike, OR reconfigure it slightly as a commuter.
I'll also consider trade. I am looking for the following parts for my build:
-29er Wheelset--SS OR geared. something of similar quality/weight to Easton XC ones. Nothing TOO expensive but not WTB Laserdiscs either.
-Crankset--SS OR geared... 170mm lengthy prefered, but I am open to options
-brakeset--BB7s or similar... or Juicy 3 or 5

Thanks for the correction... 499 is what I meant...spookyload wrote:$4999 for a Dawes? You got taken.
So I'm looking for somewhere around 150-180 or a reasonable trade...
